- We learn how to, “Stand against the wiles [schemes, strategies] of the devil.”
- The best way to overcome the strategies of the enemy is to have your own strategy (plan) from God.
- Your strategy will define your tactics (things you do)
One of the devil’s strategies is distraction:
Hindering and disrupting God’s plan in the lives of believers and preventing unbelievers from coming to faith in Christ.
Remember the “Path Principle”
The Path Principle
Proverbs 7:6 For at the window of my house
I looked through my lattice, 7 And saw among the simple, I perceived among the [a]youths,
A young man devoid of understanding, 8
Passing along the street near her corner;
And he took the path to her house 9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night.
The Path Principle (from Andy Stanley)
A path is a direction leading to a destination. When you step onto a path, your intentions don’t matter because you are going to go where ever that path leads.
Another one of the enemy’s strategies:
Making lesser things the main thing:
There is a saying, “Keep the main thing, the main thing.”
